Sir Poops Alot

Butt(:) he's not!

We had dubbed our newest child "Sir Poops Alot" on his birth announcement.
The other 4 kids were amazed(as were Mom and Dad) at the amount of diapers this child could fill.
Nursed babies usually go...what goes in must come out. Since he's "on demand" in his feeding it went without saying. Until a week ago. He went nearly 6 days(at 10 weeks old) without going poo. Bummer, as was the screaming.
We tried gas relieverslike Gas -X for babies(since we thought by the odor and sound that there had to be something in those diapers! only to be disappointed upon changing!
When I took him to the doctor who somewhat suggested that it could be indicitive of lactose intolerance.
I tried a little soy formula after his suppository(which had my husband barely able to stand) and he took it down like he was starving!
Still no poo ..
Then 3 days later wahoo! On his own!
Still, we are not sure of the culprit. I think it's more that Mommy runs around too much during the day...not enough rest, water, relaxation and maybe my milk just tastes funny. He nurses fine at night.
Yesterday was a good day, but he still need an ounce of formula at about 6pm.
No poo today

Entrepreneurial Mom

O.k.
We are the soccer mom's(in my case it's crew), chauffeurs, home managers, disciplinarians, psychologists and doctor when necessary...

Can we really have it all?
I hope we can.

After paying the bills this month and since my stock for a local company has decided to re-issue(so much for supporting the local guy!), I need to start a new venture.
I do believe my passion is photography. People other than family have remarked that they can see that I have a knack for taking photographs of children.
With that said, I do think family's photo's should be affordable.
Oprahhttp://www.2oprah.com says to find your passion or your aha moment.
I think this is mine.

Back Again!

Well, here I am. Back again after a few months off. On June 25,2007, I gave birth to a new baby boy. Healthy and happy. A few weeks early but that follows suit with my other four children.
Yes four.
He was eagerly anticipated but the summer fled by and we hope we crammed as much in as we could.
I always hope that things will slow down in the fall, but you know how that goes.

Sports, practices, homework , extracurriculars for the kids...

We try to limit our kids to one spot a season plus their piano lessons. The older kids, babysit or pet sit to make some spending cash for themselves.
This has turned out to be a great thing since the economy stinks right now and it may be the only way to get the "extras" that teenagers are looking for.

Fall is coming and I know I need a new furnace( a roof too!), but since things have been very slow at my husbands work, I dread the thought of going back to work to make "ends meet".
I have couponed and bartered about everything I can this year.
It has been a challenge.
My family thinks I should start my own business....I have tossed this idea around for the last couple of years. But what?
Something your passionate about..
I must be something to do with babies or children, after all I 've had five!
I 've tossed around the idea of the newest "thing" or fancy onsies or booties..nothing seems to give me that sparkle.
I have finally decided to do what I do best ...pictures...
None of the digital bologna...
Real 35mm...
Love it!
Can I do it?

I need a new furnace, so let me know what you think!
I would love to stay home with the children I tried so desperatley to have.
This is the entrepreneurial country, is it not?

Congrats! You're Pregnant!

You've taken the little stick test and anxiously awaited the first visit to your OB-GYN. Now you are facing the next HUGE decision...wardrobe.
If this is your first pregnancy, my advise, be patient. There will be time enough to wear the same clothes over and over until you are sick of them.
In the early months, no matter what you wear, you will undoubtedly feel unattractive.
You may be starting to swell but really not enough to wear maternity clothes yet.
If you rush out to buy maternity clothes, most assuredly you will be swimming in them anyway.
This message to the thrifty shopper, chances are, you will never be able to buy maternity clothes on sale. The manufacturers know that this is a limited season for moms...about 6 months. If you are shopping for maternity clothing, it will probably be at the end of the first trimester or very early at the beginning. This is a small window for retailers. Sure, you can buy at the end of the season, but it is also at the end of your pregnancy!
One tip for the expanding belly...try the "old fashioned" rubber band method.
Loop one and of a rubber band through the button hole of your slacks and and loop the other end(sometimes a figure eight works best) around the button.
It goes without saying that if you are at this point, tops should drape over the top of slacks..no tuckies please!
Form fitting is a great tummy trend for preggies right now and the industry is making tops much longer this season so we don't have to worry about the exposed belly in winter.
You may not feel sexy right now and not always glowing but there is no need not to look great. Get your hair done, have a manicure and keep eating healthy!
Those pounds will stack up before you know it. Keep excercising (always check with your doctor), keeping fit will also do wonders for you during labor!

Newborn Mommy

“Babymoons”

The hot new trend on the market! We live in such a busy society it seems that there isn’t much time to meet your significant other behind closed doors anymore!
Romantic times and thoughts of creating the pitter patter of little feet have been pushed to the side by Blackberries, cell phones and 70 hour work weeks.

Who would have ever thought that it would come to this? The “honeymoon” once touted to newlyweds as the quiet , romantic escape that in decades past would lead to the making of a family has now been the precursor to set the tone for our busy lives. With that new life of wants, like grand homes, big kid toys and luxuries our parents never would see, comes the stress and limited time that we had envisioned we would spend with our spouse.

The new phase of “babymoons” are packages to weekend or weeklong destinations tp promote romance, stress relief and hopefully prepare the couple for the next phase in their life. Sleepless nights, little people toys, educational expenses, extra curricular activites, PTA meetings, class trips, school volunteers and any of the traveling sports !

So we relieved our stress for that all important baby making weekend, only to replace it with a whole different kind of stress.

I raise two questions. One, Did we just trade one stresser for another? And two, if we didn’t have enough time to make a baby without taking a special, bells and whistles, vacation to remind us how to…you know, then, do we have time to raise these children that we just brought into this world?

Give us your feedback?
